Career

A widely respected lawyer, corporate and sports figure, Dato’ Lee is an inspiration to members of his firm.

A senior partner with more than 60 years of experience in banking, insurance, finance, and corporate law, Dato’ Thomas Lee has experienced and shaped the outcome of many joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and financial transactions.

He has served on the boards of many companies, including banks and insurance companies, and possesses invaluable knowledge in corporate governance and boardroom practice. Additionally, he has been a trustee in charitable organisations connected with Cambridge University and others. He has also served on the Appeals Committee of Bursa Malaysia for many years. He was a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport and served as an arbitrator at two Commonwealth Games (Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne), and three Olympic Games (Sydney, Beijing, and London).

Dato’ Lee is a prominent person in golf, having served as Captain of The Royal Selangor Golf Club and as President of the Malaysian Golf Association for many years. Internationally, he has served on committees of The R&A of St. Andrews and held positions as a committee member, President, and Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation. He has been involved in setting up and organising golf tournaments, golf clubs, and the golf industry at home and internationally, including the Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Championship, one of the leading golf amateur tournaments in the world.

Although Dato’ Lee no longer deals with clients, he remains a member of the firm, ready to give advice when required.
