The firm: The firm was established in 1994 by Logan Sabapathy. Over the years the firm has developed into a boutique practice specialising in complex commercial matters. The firm advises and represents a broad spectrum of domestic and international clients operating in various fields of commerce and its clientele includes multinationals, public-listed companies, financial institutions, regulatory authorities and private individuals.

The firm prides itself on providing personalised, efficient and effective services tailored to its clients’ practical and commercial needs. It is also strategically placed to advise clients on the structuring of documentation at an early stage that focuses on minimising potential post-transaction disputes.

Areas of practice: The firm’s practice is broadly divided into three areas: dispute resolution, corporate and real estate.

The dispute resolution department centres on Logan’s practice as counsel, assisted by his juniors. His work covers all areas of commercial law, with a particular focus on complex commercial and corporate disputes requiring effective solutions. He practices largely in the High Court and the appellate courts, and in arbitration proceedings. Over the years, he has acted for clients in a broad range of complex cases with multi-millions in dispute. Some of these cases include shareholders’ disputes, directors’ duties, competition law proceedings, breach of trust and long-term contractual disputes. He also regularly advises clients on joint ventures, corporate recovery and investment disputes.

Alvin heads the corporate and real estate department. His corporate practice covers, amongst others, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, amalgamations and capital reductions with both domestic and cross-border elements. He is particularly experienced in corporate fundraising, notably in equity capital markets, having advised on a number of IPOs and issuance of securities in Malaysia. He also advises financial institutions and corporations on regulatory issues. On the real estate side, Alvin is particularly involved in complex deals involving corporate acquisitions and strategic joint ventures for public-listed companies, and representing developers in matters relating to construction and real estate law issues.
