Neerav Merchant is a partner and specialises in anti-corruption; general commercial; real property; disputes (litigation and arbitration); employment; and technology, media and telecommunications.

Neerav became an Advocate in India in 1996, and a Solicitor in Mumbai in 1999.  He began his legal career as a litigator and real property lawyer at Kanga & Co.

In September 2000, he went in-house with GTL Ltd., a leading telecommunication services company at the time. Thereafter, he worked as legal counsel at Tata Housing and Development Corporation Ltd. and Patni Computer Systems Ltd., a top-10 IT services company in India. 

During his in-house stints, Neerav worked on various projects, including drafting and negotiating commercial technology and BPO contracts (from a supplier’s perspective) with large American and British corporations, namely, Fidelity, The Coca Cola Company, Prudential Life, Metlife, Assurant, State Farm Insurance, Citigroup, Barclays,  Carphone Warehouse, Harman Music, Serco, and Tesco. In addition, he was involved in advising on a host of telecommunication and IT regulatory issues.

Neerav joined Majmudar & Partners (then Majmudar & Co.) in January 2007.  At the firm, he has advised clients like Warner Music, Network Appliance, GTECH, Lummus Corporation, Outokumpu (Finland), Wockhardt Ltd., Armstrong, SKS Ispat, Akka Technologies (France), Elle Tre S.r.l, ArthroCare (US), Amaprop (a large US-based fund), Greaves Cotton Ltd., Godrej Industries Ltd., Westport Innovations, Inc. (a global leader in natural gas engines), A. M. Todd (US), etc., on dispute resolution, arbitration, enforcement of foreign judgments and awards, IT/outsourcing and licensing, IP, employment, commercial, anti-corruption, and real property matters.
