Partner and Head of M&A Practice Group  

Rukshad Davar is a partner and head of M&A practice group and specialises in banking and finance; competition; corporate/M&A; inbound investments into India; private equity and venture capital; and tax.

Rukshad is an Advocate and Solicitor admitted in India, and a Solicitor admitted in England & Wales.  Rukshad is also a Chartered Accountant admitted in India. 

Rukshad has over 23 years of experience in M&A, Inbound Investments, Restructurings, Joint Ventures, Corporate/Commercial, Competition/Anti-Trust and Direct Tax matters, and has successfully led and advised on complex domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, strategic investments, asset sales and purchases, slump sales and hive-offs, corporate advisory and direct tax and tax treaty matters. 

Rukshad's practice is largely international focused given his prior work experience with Jones Day, and he continues to represent several international clients on their legal matters in India, as well as he represents domestic clients.  Rukshad has led and assisted on several stellar deals including representing MF Global in their insolvency, restructuring and stake sale to Philip Capital Securities, which was the second largest insolvency and restructuring in the financial services sector after the collapse of Lehman Bros.  He represents international clients in diverse sectors on their investments into India.
