Career

Henry C.W. Hong is the founder and owner of TOPTEAM International Patent and Trademark Office. He has built and leads an elite team specializing in patent specification drafting, cross-border patent and trademark prosecution, worldwide IP protection strategy development, as well as litigation proceedings and transaction matters. His team has been highly recognized for its work ethic and high-quality services. The majority of new clients are recommended by our existing clients.

Supported by over three decades’ experience in the field and his intuitive grasp of complex matters, Mr. Hong offers insightful advice on issues ranging from  patentability, non-infringement and invalidity to technology licensing, patent prosecution, re-issue, foreign opposition, etc.

Mr. Hong is also a highly proactive and an involved member of the Taiwan Patent Attorney Association (TWPAA), where he was the first chairperson of the Patent Committee and Japanese Affairs Committee and one of the standing councilors on the Board of Directors from 2015 to 2018.

Prior to founding TOPTEAM, Mr. Hong was employed as a design engineer and patent engineer and was a Senior Engineer for the Industry Development Bureau of the Taiwan Government's Ministry of Economic Affairs.

He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from National Taiwan University and his master’s degree in industrial mechanical engineering from the University of Tokyo. He also completed the law program of continuing education at the College of Law and Business, National Chung-Hsin University and the training program in Chinese Law, School of Law, Tsinghua University.
