Jitendra is a technology and transactions lawyer based in New Delhi.

As part of his technology practice, he routinely advises his clients, both in an advisory capacity and as a part of wider transactions, on all areas of traditional and emerging technologies including e-commerce, cloud computing, software-as-a-service offerings, IT/ITeS, fintech, digital payments, drones, social media platforms, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, gaming, and augmented and virtual reality related technologies. He also has extensive experience in the data protection space and has advised clients from various sectors on the entire life cycle of data, with specific expertise in cross-border data transfers and data governance processes.

His transactions practice includes representing startups, growing businesses and investors on the full suite of corporate transactions including strategic acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, and venture capital, in a broad range of traditional sectors as well as evolving market sectors arising at the intersection of technology.

Jitendra has been recognised as a “Recommended Lawyer” in The Legal 500 2021 and 2022 Asia Pacific for TMT and Data Protection respectively. He is the author of several publications on pressing corporate and regulatory issues in prestigious journals, business dailies and blogs and is a member of the editorial board of several law journals in India.

Prior to joining Argus Partners, he worked with premier law firms such as DSK Legal, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and AZB & Partners. He is an alumnus of the School of Law, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, and a member of the Bar Council of Delhi.

  • Advised OfBusiness on its acquisition of Koeleman India.
  • Advised Whiteboard Capital Fund on ONWo’s seed funding round of USD 1.6 million.
  • Advised Whiteboard Capital Fund on ApnaKlub’s Series A fundraise of USD 16 million.
  • Represented Healthquad Fund II in relation to multiple funding rounds including investments in Sekhmet Technologies (a healthcare analytic start-up), HealthifyMe (a digital health and wellness platform operator), Redcliffe Lifetech (a leading diagnostics platform operator) and GoApptive (a tech-based pharma distribution company).
  • Represented Amazon entities in relation to multiple transactions including acquisition of technology assets from Coraza Technologies (an entity operating the mobile application Tapzo), investments in Naffa Innovations (an entity operating contactless digital transactions through the mobile application, ToneTag) and Acko Technologies (100% holding company of Acko General Insurance).
  • Represented Appcino Technologies (low-code consulting and technology firm) and its promoters in relation to the sale of 79% of the equity share capital to Xebia India Holding B.V.
  • Represented Sonu Sood and his ventures in relation to a joint venture transaction with SchoolNet India and investment by GoodWorker and multiple investment-cum-endorsement transactions with various entities including Spice Money, Travel Union, Explurger, Intercell, etc.
  • Represented Alps Alpine, Japan in setting up of a joint venture company with Lumax Auto Technologies, which will manufacture and sell electronic devices and software for automobile industry in India.
  • Advised a leading American e-commerce entity and its various Indian subsidiaries and affiliates in relation to various compliance issues, commercial arrangements (such as procurement, sale, supply-chain financing, licensing, contract manufacturing, marketing, etc.), group restructuring (such as structuring of operations as per foreign exchange laws) and its day-to-day business operations in India (including advisory on intermediary liability, insurance laws, data protection laws, e-commerce laws, payment laws, product-specific compliances, food laws, drugs and cosmetic laws, legal metrology, and various other legal issues).
  • Advised a leading Bollywood actor on launch and operation of a Bollywood-themed NFT marketplace and launch of a native cryptocurrency.
  • Advised a leading Irish-American financial services and SaaS company in relation to its entry into online payment services and solutions market in India.
  • Advised one of the world’s largest on-demand cloud computing solution and API provider in relation to establishment of cloud computing service infrastructure in India.
  • Advised various onshore and offshore clients across sectors and industries in relation to streamlining their data privacy strategies with the Indian data protection laws, conducting compliance reviews/ audits and data transfer impact assessments, reviewing and negotiating a range of data-related transactions (such as data processing and sharing arrangements, data transfer arrangements, cloud storage arrangements, etc.), developing internal and external data policies and processes to ensure compliance with the extant and proposed data protection laws of India and responding and handling security incidents and data breaches.
