Career
Aseem Dhawan is a Partner in the Banking and Finance practice at Argus Partners, with extensive expertise in debt transactions. His primary practice areas include banking and finance, debt capital markets, structured finance, and project financing within India.
He routinely advises banks, financial institutions, funds, and sponsors on a broad range of transactions, including cross-border lending, debt capital markets, project financing, distressed asset resolution, securitizations, and structured finance.
Aseem has previously worked at Trilegal, Mumbai. He finished his B.A. LL.B. from Symbiosis Law School, India.

Advised British International Investment on their first investment in pooled bonds issued by six micro finance institutions in India.
Advised British International Investment on its investment in unsecured, rated listed social impact bonds issued by Aavas Financiers Limited listed in International Financial Services Centre.
Advised British International Investment on its investment in secured, unlisted, redeemable non-convertible debentures up to an amount equivalent to INR 750,000,000 issued by Boston Ivy Healthcare Solutions Private Limited.
Advised Barclays Bank Plc in its debt financing of USD 42 million to SVL Limited a Shriram Group entity.
Advised U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (erstwhile OPIC) in relation to financing of a non-banking financial institution in India.
Advised Rabobank, Hong Kong, branch in connection with the USD 25 million ECB facility granted to Adani Wilmar Limited for their capital expansion.
Advised Standard Chartered Bank, (Singapore) Limited in connection with the USD 23 million single currency term facility granted to Hinduja Automotive Limited.
Advised China Development Bank in connection with financing of State Bank of India through a term loan facility of USD 300,000,000.
Advised Standard Chartered Bank, DBS Bank Ltd and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (all Singapore branch) in relation to a project finance facility of upto USD 165 million to Eden Renewables (a joint venture of Total Eren and EDF Renewables in India) for development of a 450 MW solar power project in Rajasthan, India.
Advised consortium of lenders led by REC Limited on project financing of 1600 MW (2 units of 800 MW each) imported coal based ultra-super critical thermal power project developed by Adani Power (Jharkhand) Limited for an amount of USD 1384.61 million for export of power to Bangladesh.
Advised HDFC Bank Limited with respect to refinancing of upto INR 550 crore in relation to 100 MW solar power project located in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan operated by a group of five companies promoted by Total Eren.
Advised Blupine Energy Private Limited (a part of the Actis Energy group) in relation to refinancing of 355 MWAC / 404 MWp total of 7 solar power projects by debt availed from NIIF Infrastructure Finance Limited and India Infradebt Limited.
Advised Vibrant Energy Holdings Pte. Ltd. (a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management’s Green Investment Group) in relation to project financing of an aggregate amount of approximately INR 2,200,00,00,000 (Indian Rupees Two Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty crore) availed from the Power Finance Corporation, for part financing of the construction of hybrid renewable energy power projects with a combined renewable energy capacity of 300 MW (AC).
Advised Enel Green Power India Private Limited on debt financing of upto INR 1443,56,00,000 for a 285MW wind power project in the state of Gujarat with L & T Infrastructure Finance Company Limited, through a special purpose vehicle, Avikiran Solar India Private Limited.
Advised L&T Infrastructure Finance Company Limited on Rupee term loan project financing of 7 solar power project SPVs of SkyPower Holdings (total generation 350 MW AC) in India.
Advised British International Investment in relation to financing of a company providing wastewater management solutions in India through the external commercial borrowing route.
Advised Piramal Alternatives Trust on its investment in tier-II optionally convertible debentures aggregating to INR 300,00,00,000 (Indian Rupees Three Hundred crores issued by Annapurna Finance Private Limited.
Advised Modulus Alternatives Investment Managers Limited (erstwhile Centrum Alternative Investment Managers Limited) in relation to its investment in non-convertible debentures issued by Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited.
Advised Modulus Alternatives Investment Managers Limited (erstwhile Centrum Alternative Investment Managers Limited) in relation to its investment in in non-convertible debentures issued by Strides Pharma Science Limited (Issuer).
Advised as transaction counsel to Piramal Enterprises Limited and A.K. Capital Services Limited, Nuvama Wealth Management Limited, JM Financial Limited and Trust Investment Advisors Private Limited, in connection with the issuance of secured, rated, listed, redeemable, public issue of non-convertible debentures aggregating up to INR 1,000 crore by Piramal Enterprises Limited, which is within the Shelf Prospectus limit of INR 3,000 crores.
