Walter has almost twenty years of professional experience in labour law, mostly with international law firms such as Cerha Hempel and Wolf Theiss. In addition to working at the Regional Court of Klagenfurt and the Higher Regional Court of Graz, he worked as a volunteer at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Damascus Foreign Trade Office in Syria. He was also a lecturer for labour and social security law at the WIFI Styria and an advisor for labour and social law at the Styrian Chamber of Commerce.

His areas of expertise include secondment issues, including related social security topics, remuneration systems in banks, labour law restructuring and termination claims (including on grounds of discrimination).
