Career

Caroline Hume is Head of the Residential Conveyancing Department at Taylor Walton, based in the St. Albans office. With several years of residential property experience, Caroline takes a proactive and client focused approach to her work, which ensures an efficient and effective service for both clients and introducers alike.

In 2015, Caroline won Lawyer Monthly’s Women in Law Award (Residential Property) and then went on to win Acquisition Quarterly’s Leading Female Lawyer of the Year (Residential Real Estate) in the same year.

Caroline is able to assist clients in relation to all aspects of residential property from more straightforward residential conveyancing including registered/ unregistered land, freehold/leasehold/shared ownership titles to more complex property investment and/or property development. She is well versed in both new build conveyancing and development work acting for either buyers and developers depending on the project and happy to assist with transactions involving Help to Buy 1, Help to Buy 2, Help to Buy Armed Forces and Help to Buy ISAs.

She has over the years, developed an extensive network of clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, financial advisors, developers and house builders who have come to rely on her specialist expertise and knowledge in this field.

Education

Caroline was born and raised in Aberdeen, moving to Staffordshire to study Law and Criminology at Keele University before transferring to the highly regarded Nottingham Law School.

Leisure

When not at work Caroline enjoys running, Pilates, dancing, baking and travelling especially in Africa. She hopes one day to make the Cairo to Cape overland trip.
