Sharath specializes in the areas of Corporate Commercial work, including Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions and general corporate advisory, as well as Banking & Finance, and is a Bangalore based Partner in the Corporate and M&A group, and Debt & Restructuring group of the firm.

He has worked extensively in the services, banking, fin-tech, hospitality, power, healthcare, bio-technology, manufacturing, software and e-commerce industries, advising on a wide range of issues from acquisitions to structuring transactions, and has advised various high profile clients including large banks, investment funds and large companies as well as start-up companies.

Sharath’s recent key transactions include advising a large Europe headquartered MNC on its global acquisition of a large MNC conglomerate, advising a sovereign wealth fund in their investment into the healthcare sector as well advising an American multi-national company primarily engaged in operating a social networking website in its first acquisition of an Indian company. He has earlier advised on the legal and regulatory matters and was involved in the structuring, negotiation and documentation for financing a pioneering airport privatization project. Sharath has also ideated, structured and managed a large structured finance portfolio.

He is registered with the Bar Council of Karnataka and the New York State Bar. He has a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) degree from National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and holds an LL.M. degree from Duke University School of Law, NC, USA.
