Yoon & Lee is heavily engaged in various international activities, both in terms of involvement in international organizations and prosecution of IP cases.

In particular, we are a member and actively involved in:

• Asian Patent Attorney Association (APAA), a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing intellectual property protection in the Asian region (including Australia and New Zealand). Several senior partners including Mr. Byeong-ok Song and Mr Seong-ki Kim are APAA members, and Mr. Dong-yol Yoon is a member of the Council. Also, Mr. Yoon is a former president of the APAA Korea Group and helped to organize the APAA Council Meeting in Korea in 2010. At the APAA Council Meeting in Busan, Korea, in 2022, Mr. Ji-Man Park and Ms Jaewon Yoon were members of the organizing committee.
• International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). AIPPI is the world’s leading non-profit association dedicated to the development and improvement of laws for the protection of intellectual property. Mr. Seong-ki Kim is a member and a former president of AIPPI Korea. Ms. Jaewon Yoon is a director of the AIPPI Korea Group and a member of the Young AIPPI members Advisory Committee.
• International Trademark Association (INTA) – INTA is a global network of brand owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property. We attend every INTA Annual Meeting.
• International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) – the FICPI is the only international NGO whose membership consists entirely of IP attorneys in private practice. Mr. Yoon was a member for about 20 years.

Yoon & Lee has also developed an extensive international network of “best friend” IP law firms, which enables us to provide IP services for most jurisdictions around the world. In addition to rankings by legal directories such as Legal 500, we have also been ranked Tier 1 for patents by Asian Legal Business in recent years, including for 2024, and recognized as one of the Top 10 Trademark Firms and Top 10 Patent Firms in South Korea by Trademark Lawyer Magazine and  Patent Lawyer Magazine, respectively.

We are able to provide our international clients with fluent services in English, Japanese, and Chinese, as well as Korean. We offer full translation services among these languages and also translations to and from Korean for all languages.
