An Experienced Courtroom Lawyer

As someone who is well versed in the ins-and-outs of the law, Mathavan has served as Deputy Public Prosecutor and argued criminal cases in not only the Magistrate’s, but also the District and High courts. Along with appearing before the Court of Appeal to argue criminal cases, he has been of advice to government institutions in matters of compliance with regulatory provisions.

Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Buckingham and with a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, Mathavan also serves as a Barrister-at-Law (Inner Temple).

Deputy Public Prosecutor

Mathavan practised as an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore for three years before joining the Legal Service as a Deputy Public Prosecutor, where he served for twelve years.

Notable Work & Accolades He served the Assistant Director of the Attorney-General’s Chambers Computer & Information Systems Department (CISD) Mathavan taught law at Temasek Polytechnic for 5 years, from 2000 to 2015. He taught criminal procedure to graduate law students who were looking to be called to the Bar in Singapore. As a Lecturer also taught Family Law, Criminal Law and Business Law to diploma level students
