Career

Tito founded Tito Isaac & Co (later LLP) as a one-lawyer practice in 1999. Today the firm is in its 21st year of service and currently has a team of more than 25 lawyers and about 40 support staff. The firm has served private individuals, SMEs and corporations. These include both local and international clients. The firm has also advised and acted (through overseas associates) in multi-jurisdictional matters. Tito has led the firm throughout its 21-year history and remains Managing Partner.

Leading LitigatorTito is the firm’s leading litigator with extensive trial and appellate experience, covering a wide range of civil and criminal litigation. Tito has advocated for individuals and corporations from a range of industries in complex, cross-border, multi-jurisdictional matters. Tito maintains a number of regional legal relationships to facilitate this work.

Notable Cases

Major Construction CompanyActed for one of Singapore’s largest inland transport and construction companies in matters arising from guarantees to financial institutions and proceedings where injunctive relief was required and successfully obtained and granted.

Billion Dollar IssuesActed for foreign clients and had applied for, argued and successfully obtained urgent injunctive relief in respect of assets valued in the region of S$ 1 billion.

Oil and GasSuccessfully defended a long-standing oil and gas client against a complex claim in the Court of Appeal.

Capital Drug ChargeReduced potential death penalty to a five-year sentence for a Korean tourist facing the gallows on a drug charge.

“Exorcism”Successfully defended a Catholic priest and his church in a matter involving an alleged severe personal injury was brought before the Court in what was commonly known as the “Novena/Exorcism” case.

ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

ArbitrationTito is a fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. He has acted as counsel in matters involving both domestic and international arbitration. In recognition of his extensive experience, the Law Society of Singapore has appointed Tito to their Panel of Arbitrators on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.

Rice MonopolyIn a significant arbitration, acted as counsel for a South-East Asian rice monopoly in an arbitration.

MediationAppointed a Master Mediator by the Ministry of Law. One of the founding members of International Institute of Mediators (iiM).
