Mr. Xia is well experienced in the assets management field. He has provided comprehensive legal services for many trust companies like Ping An Trust, Zhong Rong Trust, ShanghaiTrust, Zhong Hai Trust, Hua Bao Trust, Hua Ao Trust, Xin Hua Trust, Jiao Yin Trust, Xing Ye Trust, Fang Zheng Dong Ya Trust, Suzhou Trust, Zi Jin Trust, and Zhe Shang Jin Hui Trust, domestic and foreign commercial banks including CCB Shanghai Branch, BOC Shanghai Branch, Bank of Shanghai, Bank of Nanjing, Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and Hang Sheng Bank, funds’ subsidiaries such as Peng Hua, Shou Yu Guang Kong, Shang Yin Rui Jin, insurance assets management institutions like the Pacific, Ping An, securities assets management institutions including Dong Fang Zheng Quan and so forth. In addition, Mr. Xia has advised a wide variety of clients on the structural design and legal feasibility of various assets management products, drafted and revised a lot of legal documents, served for legal due diligence and the analysis and settlement of many legal issues. Additionally, he has regularly presented professional legal trainings for various assets management institutions. He has also represented Jiao Yin Trust on a number of PE investment trust products, Ping An Trust on TOT products and real estate funds, Zhong Rong Trust on real estate funds, Shanghai Trust on QDII products and family trust products.

In the PE funds field, Mr. Xia has provided services for the formation and operation of many PE funds and real estate funds, for instance Li Bao Feng Yi, Tong Hua, Hui Hua, Lian Dong, Xin Ye and Qi Lin etc.

In the restructuring and M&A field, Mr. Xia has served many corporations in acquisition and restructuring projects. He has even participated in some impressive transactions like the restructuring of China Unionpay, SAIC Motor’s acquisition towards NAC, Otsuka sharing equities of VV Group etc.

In the dispute resolution field, Mr. Xia has extensive experiences as well. He has represented Hua'an Fund Management Company in Hua'an Fund Management Company against Lehman Brothers International (Europe) on OTC derivative product issues.

Mr. Xia is shortlisted in 2013 Rising Lawyer Star by China Law & Practice.  Mr. Xia has published assets management essay A Brief Analysis on the Legal Feasibility of Taking Usufruct as Trust Property, which earned the excellent award in the essay competition the Past Ten Years of Trust in My eyes.

Mr. Tommy Xia graduated from Tongji University with a bachelor’s degree of Arts in Scientific Japanese, and received his LL.M. from Kyushu University in Japan.
