In the area of banking and finance, Mr. Mei regularly represents foreign and domestic financial institutions handling transactions involving bilateral and syndicated lending, project finance, trade finance, financial lease, credit cards, credit asset transfers, NPL disposals, templates drafting/reviewing, compliance advice and issuing memos and legal opinions.

In the area of dispute resolution, Mr. Mei represents various clients (including financial institutions) in commercial disputes. Mr. Mei recently successfully represented an International Finance Corporation in its first arbitration case and litigation case in China

In the areas of M&A/Restructuring and general corporate law, Mr. Mei regularly represents multi-national corporations and handles their mergers and acquisitions in China, and also assists them in establishing wholly foreign owned enterprises and joint ventures in China. In addition to this, he also assists domestic companies in going abroad for investments

Mr. Mei was listed over the years as a leading individual in Banking & Finance by Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific, Legal 500 and International Financial Law Review 1000.

Mr. Michael Mei graduated from Fudan University with a bachelor's degree.  Mr. Mei once studied English law at London University and trained with law firms in both London and Hong Kong as part of a legal education program sponsored by the British government.
