Career

Mary Thel (Thel) T. Mundin became a Partner of C&G Law in 2015. She heads the firm’s TMT & Fintech Sector Group and is a key member of the firm’s General Corporate Practice Group.

Thel’s practice areas include corporate services, financial technology, foreign investments, mergers & acquisitions, and TMT.

Impressed clients have praised Thel in particular for “giving much attention to detail and writing thorough and practical opinions” and being “responsive and providing value-adding commercially savvy advice.”

Prior to joining C&G Law in July 2013, Thel was an associate at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, a foreign legal advisor at Kelvin Chia Partnership (Singapore office), an associate at Villaraza Cruz Marcelo & Angangco, a Securities Counsel of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (“SEC”) Company Registration and Monitoring Department, and later Chief Counsel of the SEC’s Market Regulation Department and a Member of the SEC’s Special Hearing Panel.

Thel’s TMT & Fintech experience includes advising on and assisting with matters involving data privacy, technology, media, telecommunications and financial technology.

In addition, Thel’s general corporate practice experience includes dealing with corporate and commercial transactions, particularly foreign and domestic investments, corporate services, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. She has assisted several companies in share and asset acquisitions and capital restructuring in the Philippines. She has likewise conducted due diligence and other activities in connection with such transactions. She has extensive experience in assisting clients from the ASEAN region in investing in the Philippines and has advised and assisted various leading companies in the course of her practice in Manila and Singapore.
