Career

Armed with a double degree in Accounting and Law, Boo Seng has been practising in the area of Intellectual Property (IP) since being admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1998. With extensive experience in IP disputes, he has represented many IP owners in the enforcement and protection of their rights. In addition, he regularly advises clients on IP related corporate and commercial transactions, licensing and commercialisation of IP rights, and data protection.

He also handles IP registrations for many multinational and local clients in the fintech, biotechnology, life sciences, and telecommunications sectors to name a few.

Consistently recognised and ranked by prestigious publications including the Asia Pacific Legal 500 and Chambers Asia-Pacific, he has been described as “(having) established a solid reputation in the market”, “adept in matters ranging from infringement disputes to enforcement strategies” and “a versatile operator with a deft enforcement touch." He has also been commended for his commercial IP expertise by The World Trademark Review.

His keen interest in IP has led him to take up key leadership positions in a number of IP organizations notably:
