Career
Andy is one of the founding partners of Adnan Kelana Haryanto & Hermanto. He has more than two decades of experience practicing corporate and commercial law and is widely recognized as a leading corporate lawyer in Indonesia.
Andy is particularly well known for his work in the telecommunications and energy and natural resources sectors, where he advises Indonesian and international enterprises on all aspects of project transactions, from bidding for the relevant concessions to the financing, construction, and implementation of the project, as well as some of their most significant corporate transactions, including a number of important mergers and acquisitions involving companies operating in these sectors. Some notable transactions in which Andy was involved include, in the telecommunications sector, advising Telekom Malaysia in the acquisition of PT Excelcolmindo Pratama (now PT XL Axiata) and PT Tower Bersama Indonesia Tbk in the acquisition of telecommunications towers owned by PT Indosat Tbk; and, in the energy sector, the development of the Paiton Units 3, 7, and 8 coal-fired power plants in East Java, with a combined capacity of more than 2000MW, and, more recently, in the development and financing of the Jawa 1, 2X1000 MW, gas-fired power project.
Andy also actively advises clients in the technology sector. He has considerable experience with payment systems, which includes advising American Express for more than fifteen years and assisting it to establish its Indonesian subsidiary, PT American Express Indonesia.
In addition to his advisory work, Andy serves on various corporate boards in Indonesia. Such experience includes serving as one of the present Independent Commissioners of PT Multistrada Arah Sarana Tbk, a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Commissioners of PT Paiton Energy from 2007 to 2015, and a member of PT American Express Indonesia’s Board of Directors from 2009 to 2017.
