Partner and Head of Private Client.

Amrit has over 15 years of experience specialising in estate planning and wills, probate, contentious probate, trusts, powers of attorney and Court of Protection.

Amrit's work includes providing bespoke advice to clients dealing with their estate planning needs, including succession planning, preserving wealth and minimising inheritance tax liability. She has advised clients in relation to trust structures and lifetime gifts.

As the Head of the Wills, Trusts and Estates team, Amrit has implemented a number of processes for the quick and efficient turnaround of new Wills since joining Bindmans LLP. Through her experience, she applies an understanding and thoughtful manner to emotional situations when a loved one applies for a death bed Will.

She has specialist experience in handling contentious probate disputes, adopting a sensitive and pragmatic approach with an aim to achieve the most cost-effective resolutions for her clients. In addition, Amrit advises executors or personal representatives on all aspects of estate administration including obtaining the grant of probate. Having undertaken considerable court of protection work, Amrit has gained experience in dealing with individuals’ mental capacity issues, helping clients to make decisions relating to their welfare and financial affairs which includes advising on lasting powers of attorney and where they lack capacity making deputyship applications. For many years, Amrit has acted for elderly clients and assisted with their later life planning needs.
