Career

Norman has more than 20 years' experience in dispute resolution and litigation, banking and finance, corporate insolvency, and bankruptcy.

Norman acts for a number of major insolvency accountants and financial institutions, and has been an adviser in a number of Victoria's large insolvency administrations. He also regularly acts for a number of major corporate clients in complex litigation.

Norman's approach is to work closely with his clients to identify commercial imperatives when instructions are given. He respects the knowledge and direction he is given by his clients, and consults with them before taking any action that may trigger sensitive issues. He will then tailor his advice and the dispute resolution strategies around a client's commercial objectives.

The time, energy, and cost involved in the litigation process can cause businesses to lose focus on their day-to-day operations. In many cases, Norman has worked with his clients to explore alternative dispute resolution processes with a view to more efficiently and promptly resolve their disputes.

In addition, Norman works with his clients to identify risks in their businesses and advises them on how to minimise their exposure thereby, where possible, reducing the likelihood of disputes arising.
