Career

Felice Meli is a consummate IP expert, having advised numerous business enterprises on all aspects of IP in China and South-East Asia, since 2012.

Felice holds two law degrees, having initially graduated from the University of Bologna in  Italy, before taking a second law degree at the University of Scotland Law School. With this academic legal background and his extensive experience in both civil and common law jurisdictions, Felice has gained a respected reputation as a result of advising enterprises from a wide range of industries in the assessment and enhancement of their IP portfolios, providing strategies on the registration of their IP rights.

Felice’s experience extends to the enforcement of IP rights in China, to include the  representation of clients in prosecution actions in China and South-East Asia. His expertise has been gained from challenging the sale of counterfeit goods, both online and in the marketplace, to include tackling infringement at trade fairs and in relation to customs border brand protection. It is notable that several of his high-profile cases have gained recognition as landmark guideline cases for anti-counterfeiting practices in China.

Felice has been a member of numerous professional associations, including  INTA, ECTA and MARQUES . Furthermore, he is registered as an expert by the European Union IP Helpdesk. As well as being a respected IP practitioner, Felice is an active speaker in topics relating to trademarks and anti-counterfeiting. He frequently collaborates with the embassies of European countries based in China, providing advice on strategies and techniques related to IP protection in the Chinese market.

In addition to his native Italian, Felice speaks fluent English, advanced Spanish and basic Mandarin.
