Career

As a partner in our Intellectual Property group in Hong Kong, I advise clients utilising my unique skills as a patent attorney, contentious IP lawyer, and a scientist.

I specialise in IP matters in China and Hong Kong, and have advised on a wide range of legal issues involving technology.

As a patent attorney (qualified in Australia), I have drafted and prosecuted numerous patent and design applications around the world.

As a lawyer, I regularly advise clients on IP protection strategies, ways to identify and minimise IP risk when using or developing technology, IP issues in commercial agreements, and handling IP related disputes. A key part of my practice involves multi-jurisdictional patent litigation, which includes defending and challenging the validity of patents.

Given my technical background, I handle commercial matters and disputes with an proper understanding of the technology and practical issues concerning its use and protection. My litigation experience provides insight into weaknesses in patents, which complements how I help clients seek better IP protection.

I have handled patent matters involving a wide range of technologies – including telecommunications, artificial intelligence, software/electronics, fintech, gaming, medical equipment/devices, advanced materials, complex machinery, and fast moving consumer products.

I am fluent and literate in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
