Career
Massimiliano has practiced law since 1990, having graduated from the University of Milan. He is the founding partner of Bird & Bird Italy and he is passionate about protecting the values of our firm.
His advice informs clients on domestic and pan-European Intellectual Property litigation around patents, trademarks, copyright, advertising and unfair competition in life sciences, media, IT, internet, telecoms, food, fashion and luxury goods.
As well as managing trademark portfolios, he also advises on non-contentious IP/IT/TMT and regulatory issues such as licensing, R&D, MTA, clinical trials, software agreements and IT, maintenance, outsourcing, disruptive technologies, pre-clearance advertising and data protection.
He lectures at San Raffaele University and continues to publish in the areas of licensing, product liability, copyright, technology transfer and inventors awards.
He served as Chair of the firm from 2016 until 2020. He is often invited to speak at conferences covering sectors and issues as diverse as biotech, incubators, cloud computing and crowdsourcing.
In 2023, he has been nominated Co-Head of Bird & Bird IP International Practice Group.
