Career

I am a partner in our Intellectual Property group in Hong Kong, and have a unique skillset as a patent attorney, contentious IP lawyer, and a scientist.

I specialise in contentious and non-contentious IP matters in Hong Kong, Mainland China and across the Asia Pacific region.

As a patent attorney (qualified in Australia), I have drafted and prosecuted numerous patent and design applications around the world.

As a lawyer, I regularly advise clients on IP protection strategies, ways to identify and minimise IP risk when using or developing technology, IP issues in commercial agreements, and handling IP related disputes. A key part of my practice involves multi-jurisdictional patent litigation, which includes defending and challenging the validity of patents.

Given my technical background, I handle commercial matters and disputes with a proper understanding of the technology and practical issues concerning its use and protection. My litigation experience provides insight into weaknesses in patents, which complements how I help clients seek better IP protection.

I have advised on patent matters involving a wide range of technologies – including telecommunications, artificial intelligence, software/electronics, batteries, renewable energy, fintech, gaming, medical equipment/devices, advanced materials, complex machinery, and fast moving consumer products.

I am fluent and literate in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
