Career

Sokanha has been leading Bun & Associates's Corporate and M&A practice group for over a decade. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, divestments, investments, structuring, restructuring, governance, compliance, and other corporate and commercial advisory matters. She has a proven track record of advising corporations, financial institutions, private equity & investment funds and other relevant stakeholders on both offshore and on-shore transactions. She has successfully closed several notable deals of different sizes and in diverse sectors.

Her extensive expertise focuses on not only the legal but also the practical deal aspects particularly required of cross-border transactions in emerging markets. She has comprehensively counseled and coordinated multimillion-dollar deals, from overseeing transactional due diligence and documentation to securing regulatory approvals. She also has expansive industry experience in multiple sectors, especially in manufacturing, healthcare, banking & finance, insurance, and economic land concessions.

Sokanha is a qualified lawyer registered with the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia and is a commercial arbitrator in Cambodia. She holds a Masters's Degree in Comparative Law from Nagoya University (Japan) and an English language-based Bachelor of Law from the Royal University of Law and Economics (Cambodia). She is fluent in both Khmer and English.
