Career

Chris, a Partner in the Planning & Environment Group, has over 13 years post qualification experience. He deals with a range of planning and environment work including the preparation of planning cases proceeding by way of Public Inquiry or written representations appeal. He has advocacy experience at public inquiries on planning appeals related to development, applications for certificates for lawful existing use / development and mineral extraction. He has considerable experience in drafting and negotiating planning obligations and Section 278 Agreements and continues to be involved in preparing agreements for some of the largest and most complex developments including city centre as well as edge of centre developments. He also has experience in applications for judicial review and acting for developers in challenges to Development Plan policies. He also has knowledge in High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court procedure. Chris has extensive CPO experience.

Chris has also advised several clients in connection with appearances in the Upper Tribunal (Lands) to determine the value of lands taken including both for local authorities and dispossessed land owners.
