Ms. Shailaja Lall is an Equity Partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co and headsthe Insurance & Reinsurance practice of the firm. She has worked extensively in the fieldof insurance law for over 20 years and is recognised as a leading practitioner ofinsurance law in India with remarkable domain expertise.

Shailaja experience includes advising insurers, reinsurers, insurance intermediaries andother financial services entities on a full range of non-contentious and contentiousinsurance matters. She also advices extensively on key regulatory developmentsimpacting the sector, including PE investment, licensing of insurance intermediaries,corporate agency arrangements, group insurance arrangements and sale of insurancethrough e-commerce platforms. She works with many of the marqee and most-respectedcompanies throughout the insurance sector.

Shailaja was the Vice Chair of the Lex Mundi Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group(2012-16) and a member of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce andIndustry’s (FICCI) Insurance and Pensions Committee (2014-15).

Shailaja has worked for two top tier corporate law firms in Mumbai early in her career. She was a Partner at Tuli & Co, New Delhi prior to joining Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A Shroff & Co in 2007.
