Career

Simon Keen is a Counsel in the London Real Estate team and works with owners, occupiers, and developers of commercial real estate and their funders on their UK transactions.  He has a particular practice in development and strategic land promotion, working on urban extensions, regenerations, and the development of new offices and logistics parks in particular, including acting for landlords and tenants on development leasing transactions, but also enjoys asset management (for both occupiers and investors).

Having been seconded to the in-house legal teams at both Esso UK and the Royal Mail in his career, Simon understands what matters to occupiers of UK real estate. He also has experience in guiding them through the process of leasing and then managing their business premises.

Simon's interest is in sustainability and energy performance and has extensive knowledge of the real estate issues arising from these increasingly important topics. He advises clients and colleagues on "green leasing" generally and on EPCs, Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme, and Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards in particular. Simon helps clients comply with the law and consider how to future proof their properties as this complex area of regulation continues to develop.
