Ian joined EC3 Legal in September 2013 and promoted to Partner in October 2014. He has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry both on the underwriting side with BRIT Insurance (as head of legal) prior to its takeover by CVC and Apollo, with ACE and more recently at Sterling Insurance, and also on the broking side with Aon.  He has broad experience of a number of insurance related matters at both Lloyd’s and in the company market.   At BRIT Insurance he was involved in the company’s sponsorship deal with Surrey County Cricket Club and with the ECB, and the British Red Cross.  He has commercial experience of matters relating to a s166 investigation and a past business review of how retail customers were being treated which involved working with customer facing areas of the business, and with compliance monitoring, QA and internal audit.   Ian has also been involved in large corporate projects relating to M&A transactions and insurance portfolio transfers.
