Career

Alice is an experienced commercial real estate specialist, with experience in management, development and acquisitions work.  Prior to joining DJB, Alice worked for Hogan Lovells where she advised clients in the retail, charity, development and investment sectors.  Alice has advised on a wide range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, landlord and tenant, development, due diligence and reporting work. Alice has substantial experience in the asset management of retail, restaurant and office premises for large central London landlords.

Highlights include: 

  • Negotiating retail, restaurant and office lettings and surrenders in London estates for a large West End landlord (both within and outside of the 1954 Act);

  • Acting for a charity fund manager negotiating a renewal of a letting of a retail unit, including subletting of part in respect of a café;

  • Acting for a large institutional landlord in respect of office lettings in south London;

  • Purchases of freehold properties subject to occupational leases in central London, both assisting and leading, including negotiating the sale contract, drafting reports on title and reviewing tenancies;

  • Tenancy reviews in respect of purchases, including of a regional shopping centre for an institutional Landlord and the £145m purchase of a retail park in Hoddesdon for an institutional landlord;

  • Preparing and negotiating multiple reliance reports on title in respect of a £215m financing of 6 plots in a central London redevelopment, including site-wide title investigation involving the review of complex asset protection, utilities and railways agreements and deeds of grant;
