Tim Sylvester Jones is a founding member of DJB and previously worked in-house at the Treasury Solicitors Department.  A commercial property specialist, with particular expertise in clawback and issues pertaining to the Crown, Tim has advised in relation to some of the most significant properties in the country.  His role as leading legal adviser for many years to The Royal Parks has led to his involvement on a range of substantial projects including significant PPP developments, the licensing of The Parks for commercial developments and events in The Parks.  Tim led the team acting for The Royal Parks on the hosting of events for the 2012 Games.  He also dealt with the first registration of 10 Downing Street and other Whitehall properties on behalf of the Cabinet Office.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights include advising:

The Royal Parks on hosting the London 2012 Olympic Games.  This included over 40 events on their land including the Beach Volleyball at Horse Guards Parade, the Equestrian Events in Greenwich Park, the Triathlon and Marathon Swimming in Hyde Park and the use of the Mall in St James’s Park as the start and finish point of several of the road events.

The Cabinet Office on the first registration of 10 Downing Street.

Ministry of Defence on the drafting of their standard clawback clause.  The revised clause continues to be used in all disposal contracts relating to the MoD’s sites across the country.

Plymouth City Airport on a highly complex CPO project to improve its infrastructure.

The Royal Parks on the development of the Bomber Command Memorial at Green Park, to honour the 55,573 airmen from Bomber Command who lost their lives in World War Two
