Career

Stuart is a founding member of DJB.  He is recognised in the legal world as a leading property advisor to Central Government.  Stuart has advised numerous Central Government clients, including the Cabinet Office, the Department for Work and Pensions, Defra, DCLG and HMRC, on prominent sites including the House of Lords and Whitehall.

Clients seek Stuart's expertise for complex or highly technical issues.  For example, HM Treasury asked Stuart to work alongside Linklaters to undertake all property title work relating to the first Sukuk bond to be entered into by a Western Government.  His work on this project was honoured  at the American Lawyer Global Legal Awards in New York.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights include advising:

Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on their transfer of the Wave Hub, including complex lease work for sea beds.

HM Treasury on the real estate aspects of the first Sukuk Bond to be undertaken by a Western Government.  His work was honored in at the Global Legal Awards in New York.

Parliamentary Estates Directorate on the acquisition of 53 Parliament Street, a property in a prestigious location close to the Palace of Westminster.

Attorney General's Office on on their acquisition of new premises at 20 Victoria Street and the disposal of their old premises at 8/9 Buckingham Gate.

The Cabinet Office in relation to substantial lease exits at prestigious sites generating £multi-million savings for the taxpayer.

The Department of Health on the lease of their new London HQ.
