Career

Tony has advised a mixture of private sector developers and investors and public sector bodies on their property portfolios for over 30 years. Prior to joining DJB, he held the role of Head of Real Estate at both Cobbetts and Brabners (Manchester). He also has particular experience in property development and regeneration schemes including public/private partnerships.  He holds the highest accolades in both Chambers and Partners (Senior Statesperson) and the Legal 500 (Hall of Fame).

WORK HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights include advising:

Peel Media Ltd on the £1billion MediaCity Project at Salford Quays.  This scheme involved the relocation of various BBC Departments including Sport and Children’s programmes to a new state of the art facility and the development of a separate studio facility for the use of the BBC and others.​

Salford City Council on the Greengate Development, a new strategic gateway between Salford and Manchester.

Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council on a flagship development scheme involving the construction of a new sports research facility for Bolton University.

A joint venture investment partnership on the sale of a tenanted Industrial Estate. The sale included the benefit of over twenty leases to occupational tenants.

A investment company on the multimillion pound disposal of a 25 acre industrial park in the North West.

Westmorland Ltd, in conjunction with The Gloucestershire Gateway Trust on the development of a Motorway Services Area with a value in excess of £40m. Tony had to accommodate charitable objectives and defend a judicial review claim.
