Matthew Hutchinson qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 and has worked at Blacks Solicitors since 2016. He currently works in the Real Estate team where he became a Partner in 2018.

Matt has a wide range of experience in commercial property transactions, and has recently assisted clients with complex development transactions, landlord and tenant issues, and sales and purchases.

Matt leads Blacks’ Energy team advising developers, landowners and investors on projects ranging from utility scale generating and storage transactions to behind the meter developments such as carport solar.

In addition, Matt also leads Blacks’ experienced Real Estate Finance team working closely alongside Banking & Finance Partner, Richard Morton.  The team specialises in acting for lenders, and borrowers, in property finance transactions. Recent deals have included acting for a developer on financing a part built student accommodation development of 150 units, and acting for a lender on a large industrial portfolio refinance.
