Chris joined Russells in 1999, where he has been a partner for over 15 years and now heads Russells’ Corporate department as well as specialising in all commercial transaction work in music and the wider entertainment world. Chris also works closely with the Universal labels EMI, Island, Polydor and Decca negotiating recording agreements with artists on their behalf. Chris’ ability to combine experience of high value corporate transactions with a detailed knowledge of the intricacies of the music business is a rare commodity and highly valued by clients. Chris has a reputation for clear commercial advice, excellent drafting and a calm and considered style of negotiation. His clients for large company sales and acquisitions include many of the UK’s major record and music publishing companies; large independent record and music publishing companies from the UK and USA; successful recording artists, songwriters, managers and entrepreneurs; concert booking agents, digital designers, restaurant chains and television production companies. Chris enjoys working as part of the large corporate and commercial team at Russells specialising in music and entertainment work.
