Career
Karl joined Russells as a Partner in the Private Client Department in September 2019. He advises individuals on their wills, trusts and estate planning with a focus on wealth protection, privacy, and UK taxation. Karl has built up an extensive network of trusted lawyers in overseas jurisdictions which he calls upon when structuring cross-border estate plans for high net worth individuals.
Karl is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a representative on its Global Mental Capacity Steering Committee. In 2016, he received a STEP Worldwide Excellence Award on completion of the Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients.
Previously a partner at firms in Cambridge and London, Karl has been educated across Europe – at KU Leuven where he obtained a degree in theology and the Angelicum, Rome where he was awarded a doctorate in canon law summa cum laude.
