Career

Kareem completed his training contract at a national brand legal services provider in Bristol and qualified as a solicitor in 2019. Kareem subsequently joined a firm in London.

Kareem joined Pinney Talfourd in 2021 and was made an associate in 2022.

Kareem is experienced in advising on administering estates that have Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax liabilities and mitigating against those liabilities, estates with missing beneficiaries, and estates that include Wills with asset protection trusts. Kareem advises on preparing Wills to cater for vulnerable beneficiaries, children from previous relationships, and to protect property from care fees. Kareem also has experience of registering Lasting Powers of Attorney. Kareem is passionate about supporting people in a considerate way that is tailored to their needs.

Memberships

Kareem is a full member (TEP) of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) having competed his STEP Diploma in 2022 with merit. Within the Diploma, Kareem achieved a distinction in the STEP Advanced Certificate in the Administration of Estates, a merit in the STEP Advanced Certificate in the Administration of Trusts, and a merit in the STEP Advanced Certificate in the Taxation of Trusts and Estates.

Kareem is a Dementia Friend, having received training through the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme to change people’s perception of dementia.

Education

Kareem studied his law degree at the University of East London, graduating in 2009, and completed his Legal Practice Course with a commendation at BPP in 2010.

Personal

On a personal note, in his spare time Kareem likes to participate in endurance sports, and is particularly enthusiastic about cycling and Ironman triathlon.
