Career

Initially after completing her undergraduate degree, Jade worked as document review paralegal on an independent inquiry into historic child sexual abuse, before joining a regional Legal 500 law firm as a paralegal in their family department.

Jade joined Pinney Talfourd’s family department in April 2022, to complete the remaining few months of her training contract, before qualifying in June 2022.

Jade runs her own caseload whilst assisting a partner in the team on complex and high net worth cases.

Jade deals with a wide range of Court applications including applications for divorce, financial remedy, child arrangements orders (including specific issue and prohibited steps orders) under section 8 of the Children Act and injunctions under Family Law Act.

Jade advises client’s on financial matters, assists client’s in reaching agreements and advises client’s in contested proceedings.

Jade also has a keen interest in cases involving unmarried couples.

Memberships

Jade is a member of Resolution, an association whereby members are committed to a Code of Practice to resolve matters in a constructive way with the aim of reducing conflict and confrontation.

Education

Jade Mercer studied her law degree at the University of Brighton, graduating in 2018 with a first class honours degree.

Jade completed her master’s in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law in 2021, graduating with a distinction, whilst undertaking her training contract.

Personal

On a personal note, in her spare time Jade likes to travel and enjoys attending dance fitness classes.
