Michael is a corporate and commercial lawyer with particular passions for digital & tech, intellectual property and advising charities.

Taking a bigger-picture approach to corporate and commercial law, he has extensive experience of Mergers & Acquisitions and reorganisations, trade marks and other IP protection, and advising start-ups and growing businesses seeking investment. He advises clients on commercial contracts including, for example, framework agreements, supply and purchase contracts, software licences, agency and franchise agreements, terms & conditions and non-disclosure agreements.

Based in Lincoln, he has specialist knowledge of the Lincolnshire market and supports a number of businesses across the county, wider East Midlands region and nationally, working as part of the national team.

Michael joined Shakespeare Martineau as a partner in January 2021. Previously he worked at Wilkin Chapman in Lincoln for over 13 years, qualifying as a solicitor in 2009 and becoming a partner in 2016.

Michael graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2:1 LLB (Hons) degree in Law and completed the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, obtaining a Distinction.
