Selina Hinchliffe

Selina is a Principal Associate in our commercial group. She specialises in IP matters and advises on brand management issues, drafts and negotiates a range of agreements relating to the exploitation of IP (including technology transfer, licensing, R&D, manufacturing and collaboration agreements). Selina also handles the IP aspects of all types of major corporate transactions.

Her recent experience includes:

- advising a major utilities client on its template research and development agreements as well as bespoke project specific agreements;

- advising a major utilities provider on IP surrounding one of its wind farms;

- advising a major retail business on its brand portfolio and dealing with the transactional aspects of the same;

- advising a Premier League football club on its kit sponsorship arrangements;

- advising an international sports and leisure company in relation to IP strategy, brand management and drafting key licensing agreements;

- advising a major discount sportswear retail business on its brand portfolio, the purchase of new brands and dealing with the transactional aspects of the same;

- advising a further education college on the IP ownership position and provisions within its partnering agreement for the development of new services and buildings;

- advising a major engineering company on the development of testing centres in partnership with universities;

- advising several organisations on the key IP drafting and considerations on entering into a JV Company.

Selina has obtained the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford and is listed as “very good” in the Legal 500 2014 rankings.

She is a member of the Eversheds Energy, TMT, Diversified Industrials, Sport and Education sector groups.
