Kaileigh is a solicitor specialising in mental health and capacity and her work mainly involves  the law surrounding elderly people in care homes or community settings.

Kaileigh represents incapacitated adults and family members in decisions over mental capacity in the Court of Protection, and she is often instructed by  Relevant Person’s Paid Representatives or the Official Solicitor.

The types of cases that Kaileigh has been involved in include:

challenges under s.21A Mental Capacity Act concerning the operation of the deprivation of liberty safeguards; acting on behalf of the Official Solicitor where the mental capacity of an adult is in question by family members; applications to the Court of Protection to revoke lasting powers of attorney where the wishes of the individual and their attorneys differ; and issues where the choice of a care home facility for an incapacitated adult is under dispute between the local authority and family members.

Kaileigh volunteers with Cocktails in Care Homes, a scheme which arranges cocktail parties for residents in care homes around London. Volunteers attend to socialise and chat with the residents. Kaileigh also organises the firm’s netball team who play in a weekly league.
