Managing Partner. Over 25 years of experience acting for individuals and firms in all types of employment work, partnership and LLP disputes.

Best known for acting for board members and finance professionals against City institutions represented by top ranked employer firms.  Particularly renowned for his expertise in discrimination and whistle blowing cases.

 

Acted for whistle blower Alex Osipov in his £2m victory against International Petroleum in the Court of Appeal.  Acted for whistle blower Jonathan Millet in his case against Queensgate Investments that settled following a win at an early stage of the proceedings, reported in Bloomberg. Represented Achim Beck in his victorious age discrimination claim against CIBC (reported in the IRLR, the Financial Times and other publications).

 

Formerly elected Chair of the Employment Lawyers Association.

 

Gave evidence before the House of Commons Women and Equalities Select Committee on the role of confidential settlements in sexual harassment claims. That evidence was cited in the Committee’s report and relied upon by the Court of Appeal in its judgment concerning the disclosure of allegations of sexual harassment against Phillip Green. He appeared on Channel 4 News as an expert on the issue.

 

Also acts for employers across the range of employment law but with a particular focus on high value disputes.

Trained at SJ Berwin (qualified 1995), Capsticks (1995-1997), Eversheds (1997-2000), Lewis Silkin (2000-2010) (Partner 2002), formed and headed Employment Department at Stewarts Law (2010-2012).  Co-founder of BDBF in November 2012.
