Gemma joined the firm in 2018 and leads the property litigation team.

She is a highly skilled property litigator with 20 years’ experience in advising on a broad spectrum of property litigation matters with particular focus on high value and technical commercial dilapidations cases, opposed renewals, complex lease exits, estate management and land disputes.

Gemma acts for landlord, tenants, banks, insolvency practitioners and developers and has a particular interest in the retail and telecommunication sectors.

Work Highlights

Advising a national retail client on relocation from a key distribution centre as a result of the landlord’s desire to redevelop, involving adopting a strategy to secure time to relocate and claim compensation in excess of £1m. Defending an industrial client in a claim for an injunction and damages arising out of alleged trespass and contamination deriving from a variety of materials, including complex questions around historic and contributory contamination. Advising an investor client in connection with a tenant’s ineffective break notice and pursuing proceedings for rent arrears and a declaration that the lease was subsisting.
