Career Highlights

I secured £1,050,000 in damages for a client who required an above knee amputation as a result of a failure by his GP to recognise the symptoms of critical limb ischaemia, a condition where the blood flow is severely blocked.

To support the case, I obtained expert evidence from eight medical experts in the fields of general practice, vascular surgery, cardiology, accommodation, rehabilitation medicine, prosthetics, care and occupational therapy and forensic accountancy.

In another recent case a dependency settlement was agreed for the sum of £450,000 for the family of a man who died following a failure to recognise he had an aneurysm which required urgent treatment.

I have also received the following testimonial from another client who I represented in complex case involving a nerve injury:

‘It was only through her sheer dedication that my case, requiring the input of countless expert witnesses, was successful resolved … I am truly glad that I had Hudgell Solicitors and Caroline Murgatroyd on my side.’
