Career HighlightsSecuring an unlawful killing verdict following the inquest into the death of Jack Barnes was a huge achievement for his family.
Jack was restrained by security guards in Manchester and suffered a cardiac arrest during and later died.
We secured compensation to assist his family and we continue to press the Crown Prosecution Service to review the case.
I also represented the husband of a woman with dementia who was sexually abused in her care home by another resident who was a convicted rapist.
The home’s owners admitted failing to safeguard her from abuse and improper treatment. At court a judge fined the care company £128,000 and it also highlighted failings by the company and the local council.
I have also campaigned on national television for CCTV to be made compulsory in care homes after the family of another of our clients secretly filmed care home staff abusing their elderly relative.
