Career

Sue is a real estate specialist with over 25 years’ experience in central London private practice, having worked previously at Frere Cholmeley, Frere Cholmeley Bischoff and Forsters LLP.

She handles a broad range of property matters for investors, developers and occupiers including sales and purchases, leases, landlord and tenant/management work, and general property law advice.

Sue’s work is mainly focussed in the following areas:

Dealing with acquisitions and disposals. Acting for investor clients in relation to on-going lettings of units within their portfolios, and general advice on a variety of general landlord and tenant/management matters (including surrenders, forms of tenancy agreement, exercise of break options, and licences to assign, underlet and alter). Acting for a broad range of occupiers in relation to leasehold acquisitions and general management matters. Advising both small and larger charities on property matters, both as occupiers and landlords.

Excello’s London charities and not for profit practice, of which Sue is a team member, was recognised in Legal 500 2023 as ‘One to Watch’ recognising the firm’s expertise in advising charities and not for profit organisations.

Sue is active in pro bono and charity work and is a supporter of LawWorks (the solicitors’ pro bono organisation). She is also a member of the Register of Property Professionals for the Ethical Property Foundation, a charity that assists other charities with property issues, and a part-time law lecturer.

She is also a part-time law lecturer at The University of West London teaching Property Law and Commercial Property on the solicitors’ Legal Practice Course.
