Career

James is a Partner in Brachers' Dispute Resolution team, specialising in property litigation.

He has more than 20 years’ experience and after qualifying as a Solicitor in 1999, he joined Brachers in 2002. He became a Partner in 2012.

James specialises in:

Property and land ownership disputes

Rights over land

Landlord and tenant issues

Professional negligence

Representing clients at mediation and before tribunals, County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal

Preparing applications for new alcohol and entertainment licenses

Disputes relating to existing licensed premises

Licensing of sports and recreational facilities

He regularly advises companies, charities, colleges, NHS Trusts and individuals in relation to all aspects of property-related disputes.

He also has experience in a range of other litigation areas including general contract, disputed wills, debt recovery, insolvency and consumer law.
