Founding Partner and FMC mediator

Peter began his career at Withersworldwide.  In 2013 he co-founded Burgess Mee Family Law with his business partner,  Antonia Mee. Together they have opened 3 offices in Clapham Common, Hammersmith and Liverpool St.  In 2018 Peter qualified as a FMC accredited mediator and in 2022 he, along with Antonia, pioneered the firm’s private client offering – which has become a burgeoning practice.

Peter’s time is divided between advising clients as a solicitor, mediating and his business management responsibilities.

Peter’s client base has grown significantly over the years. He advises entrepreneurs, people running businesses or working in banking, financial or professional services and their partners and spouses. Peter specialises in both high value financial work on divorce and separation as well as complex children matters including cross border relocations. Peter advises on pre and post nuptial agreements, separation and cohabitation agreements for high net worth individuals. He has particular expertise in cases involving trusts and trustees, advising and acting on issues around loss of capacity, cases involving controlling and coercive behaviour and international relocation cases.

Peter is the Chair of Resolution’s Drafting Committee and was elected to the National committee and is Secretary of the organisation. Peter is also a member of IAFL.

Peter studied at the University of Nottingham and spent a year at the University of Melbourne, achieving a 2:1 in his BA in Law with Australian Law (with distinction). Peter qualified in 2005.

Peter has a passion for projects. He, along with Antonia Mee, developed the firm’s sister site The Happy Co-Parent, which offers free resources for co-parenting parents. He developed the firm’s The Cross Check which includes providing advice from a solicitor at Burgess Mee, a national wealth manager and one of a panel of divorce consultants.

Peter is a marathon runner and enjoys yoga.
