Career

Although based in Yorkshire, Emma conducts cases nationally and internationally and has particular expertise in private child arrangement cases in which she has built an excellent reputation for providing first class advice and representation. The type of clients Emma has advised and supported have ranged from parents needing help to resolve the day to day arrangements for their children to the more complex children cases involving issues of surrogacy including obtaining Parental Orders, issues relating to the relocation of children, allegations of parental alienation and cases where domestic abuse is a factor.

Emma also has experience of children cases where there are more nuanced complexities such as children with complex health needs including neurodiversity. Emma has a neurodiverse child herself and this gives Emma a very personal understanding as to the needs of neurodiverse children and adults in situations where families separate.

Alongside her private children practice, Emma also represents clients going through relationship breakdown including divorce, financial agreements, cohabitation issues and protection from domestic abuse including applications for Non Molestation and Occupations Orders.

Emma is a member of Resolution and supports clients in trying to resolve issues in an amicable and constructive manner and is highly praised by clients and work referrers for her calm, straight forward communication, going the extra mile to support her clients to achieve the best possible outcome. This has been recognised in the legal directories where Emma has been ranked as an “Associate to watch” following feedback from clients and other professionals with whom Emma works.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and her two young children keep her occupied.
