Malcolm is an innovative company, commercial and financial services lawyer whose primary client focus since 1985 is organisations in the social economy, social investment and sustainability. These include charities, responsible businesses, social enterprises, co-operative and community benefit societies, community interest companies, trade associations and other forms of mutual enterprise. He has advised on the succession of companies into employee ownership for many years. Malcolm pioneered community share and bond issues by renewable energy co-operatives and advises on beyond the perimeter financial services.

Malcolm’s expertise includes structuring of charity and non-charity groups, co-operative and community benefit societies, employee ownership succession and share incentive plans, company law, commercial agreements, service level agreements and financial services. He chairs the Wrigleys Risk Committee and is the firm's Anti-Money Laundering Officer.
